16. What is your fee structure?

We are and always have been very competitive with pricing. In the early stage of communication with clients we are very explicit and transparent as to what fees exist. This ensures that clients are aware of all fees before they commit to proceed. We believe that a client should pay only for what they are utilizing; therefore, different fees are applied for different asset classes, ensuring that a more conservative client does not subsidize the fees of a more aggressive or complex client mandate. 17. What is your minimum account size?

We assess every new client referral using $1,000,000 of investable assets as a guideline. Realizing that our clients have had tremendous financial success, we recognize that not all clients started there. We look at each potential client’s needs and determine where we can add value and simplicity to their lives. If both parties feel there is a good fit, we continue to move forward to assist that client.

The Schmidt Investment Group is the founder of the Expand Hope Foundation, a registered public foundation and Canada’s platform for global social change. Every year, on the first Wednesday in December, CIBC’s wholesale banking employees and participating CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisors donate their fees to help kids in need. Since its inception, Miracle Day has raised over $90 million for children’s charities across Canada and $241 million globally.
