Our private clients consist of current and past business owners, senior executives, professionals and those who have come into their wealth through their own unique story.

We assess every new client using $2,000,000 of investable assets as a guideline. Realizing that our clients have had tremendous financial success, we recognize that not all clients started there. We look at each potential client’s needs and determine where we can add value and simplicity to their lives. If both parties feel there is a good fit, we continue to move forward to assist that client.

Many clients would best be described as individuals and families that are humble, discrete, loyal, value privacy and have a history of hard work. Institutional Clients

We have a long history working with Trusts, Foundations, Non-Profits, Aboriginal Trusts and other Institutions. At The Schmidt Investment Group and CIBC Wood Gundy we understand the needs of institutional clients are distinctively different than that of private clients. We recognize that board members and trustees have fiduciary responsibilities to their stakeholders and have the need to mitigate their personal risk when accepting a role in this capacity. For this reason, our institutional clients seek expertise in the area of fiduciary responsibility and compliance.

We assist our institutional clients through CIBC’s Investment Consulting Service (ICS), which is Canada’s largest and most recognized independent and multi-manager investment platform. Our institutional clients have been able to realize strong, proven returns given that a large majority of the money managers on our ICS platform have exceeded their benchmarks over the last 10 years.

We are able to significantly simplify the investment management process at a very competitive fee through our ICS platform and our 25+ member due diligence team that researches, monitors and evaluates thousands of money managers across Canada and around the world. We pride ourselves in our history of delivering excellent returns while mitigating risks.
